We are a progressive, growing accountancy practice based in Streetly, West Midlands.
Our team is friendly, professional, and cloud-focused, working mainly with Xero to deliver high-quality services to a varied client base.
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Practice Book-keeper to join our team.
You will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial records and smooth compliance processes. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with the opportunity to build strong client relationships.
The role is full-time (part-time considered) and hybrid working is available.
Duties to include:
Book-keeping for a diverse portfolio of clients
Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
Monthly CIS returns
Sales and purchase ledger maintenance and reconciliations
Bank reconciliations
Wages and PAYE reconciliations
Preparing accounts to trial balance stage
Assisting clients with ad-hoc queries
Supporting the team with occasional reception/client support duties
The ideal candidate would have:
Previous experience in an accountancy practice (essential)
Strong knowledge of VAT rules and processes
Excellent working knowledge of Xero
Experience with Sage Cloud or QuickBooks (desirable)
Good Excel skills
Reliable, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines
Strong communicator with a client-focused approach
