Purpose of the role
As part of the Future Engineers Programme you will work in a technical and operational role with a distinct focus on the engineering side of our business, working closely with our experienced engineers and senior management on improving the UK rail system in our Rail Services division.
You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills and to work towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
Person Specification
1. Minimum 2:2 degree from a university
2. Show an interest and drive to be part of the Rail Industry and Colas Rail
3. Be comfortable with working nights and weekends
4. Work independently and in a team using your own initiative to deliver successful projects
5. Demonstrate the Behaviours within our Leadership Essentials Framework
Key Responsibilities
6. To gain the relevant skills through the Future Engineers Programme and deliver against the Graduate Engineering Framework. You will receive immersive and hands-on experience within this discipline to support this development.
7. Develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of Plant Engineering, working on live projects on site, and getting on and off the job training and competence development.
8. Gain an in-depth knowledge of Safety within your discipline and the projects in your division ensuring you adhere to all Safety and Ethical requirements.
9. Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm to learn across multi-functions to gain experience to support the projects you work on.
10. Make a strong contribution to the team and support across projects to gain and develop experience.
11. You will work towards gaining Chartership or professional recognition within your discipline.
12. Attend and learn from the various training courses you attend through the Future Engineers Graduate Programme.
13. Complete the Social Value Project when requested.
14. As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
15. Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
