About the Role
This Temporary Works Manager role sits within a water and wastewater capital delivery framework, supporting projects across the East of England. The position is office based with regular engagement across design, delivery and site teams.
You will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and assurance of temporary works from project initiation through to completion. The role includes undertaking Category 1, 2 and 3 checks, supporting the development of standard solutions and ensuring compliance with BS5975 and client procedures.
You will act as a key technical authority, providing advice and guidance to project teams while promoting best practice and continuous improvement across temporary works activities.
Key Requirements
1. Manage temporary works activities across water and wastewater projects
2. Undertake Category 1, 2 and 3 temporary works checks
3. Support the development of Category 0 standard solutions
4. Ensure compliance with BS5975 and internal quality procedures
5. Provide technical advice to design and delivery teams
6. Carry out audits and reviews of temporary works processes
Experience Required
7. Proven experience managing temporary works on civil engineering projects
8. Strong knowledge of temporary works design and checking processes
9. Experience working within regulated or framework environments
10. Understanding of water industry construction standards
11. Confident working with designers, contractors and subcontractors
12. Strong focus on health, safety and quality assurance
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
13. Experience within water or wastewater capital delivery
14. Familiarity with permit systems and third-party approvals
15. Ability to challenge and improve existing processes
16. Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
