A lecturer opportunity has arisen in the Department of STEM and Construction and are seeking an experienced candidate as a Lecturer to teach Instrumentation, Measurement and Control for learners across SCQF levels 5 to 7 in a practical and experiential setting.
The role is a mixture of workshop and classroom delivery. Candidates with significant industrial experience in relevant engineering field/area will be considered. This will include candidates without previous teaching experience.
You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching relative to the specialist areas of fabrication/welding.
Candidates must have a minimum of an HNC in Measurement and Control along with an relevant SVQ3, or equivalent. This post will primarily involve delivery to modern apprentice candidates.
Teaching experience is desirable but not essential, experience of training in a work environment is also desirable. The successful candidate should be prepared to work toward a professional teaching qualification, and Assessor and Verifier qualifications if not already held.
This role would be delivery of SVQ2 units in a workshop setting, along with classroom and practical based NC units and potentially HNC units.
You will work as part of a team to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date and meets the needs of our employers.
You will also have appropriate ICT skills and possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety.
The Department of STEM and Construction operates across all three Forth Valley campuses and there may be a requirement to work at our other campuses if required.
