Trainee Project Manager – Peterborough, England, United Kingdom
Salary: GBP26,000 per annum + 20 Days Holidays plus Bank Holidays + Training/Progression. Job type: Full Time, Permanent. Excellent opportunity to join a reputable Peterborough based company, offering progression and industry recognised training opportunities.
We are a well-established company covering a range of construction sectors including healthcare, public housing, commercial, education, insurance and leisure projects. The company prides itself on delivering a high-quality service to all clients and has developed long term business relationships. We are expanding and looking to bring an ambitious Trainee Project Manager to support our growth. In this role you will shadow senior staff and will oversee disability adaptations and commercial projects varying in size and value, ensuring they are completed to a high standard and are H&S compliant.
Responsibilities
* You will be the customer’s point of contact for all projects under your control, monitored and directed by the Contracts Manager and Head of Operations.
* Plan projects including arranging materials with the purchasing department, writing method statements and risk assessments, and organising labour.
* Deliver a high level of service by acting in good faith and as required by Westone Housing, to promote the success of the company and maintain high standards of business conduct.
* Raise work orders for assigned contractors.
* Ensure H&S is maintained on all sites under your control.
* Complete site surveys and monitoring visits; work with the SHEQ Manager to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.
* Raise variations on projects as they develop.
* Arrange building control for projects.
* Manage project budgets.
* Complete final accounts and liaise with the accounts department to ensure swift payments.
About You
Required experience:
* Experience of the construction industry would be beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent problem solving, planning and process control skills.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Working to deadlines and targets.
