Role summary
We have an exciting opportunity for applications from enthusiastic individuals to work within both our main theatres and Staffordshire Treatment suites as a Senior Operating Department Practitioner / Senior Theatre Practitioners' undertaking scrub roles. We have options for those undertaking various specialities.
We are looking for Theatre Practitioners, Registered Nurses / Operating Department Practitioners for full time positions, however part time would be considered.
Theatres and STS are fast paced environments where a positive attitude, energy and innovation are welcomed. As a team leader you will be expected to deliver high standards of perioperative care, and have the ability to support and develop your own skills and facilitate / support and develop the team to provide excellent patient care within the department.
We ask that applicants have a minimum of 2 years\' experience at band 5 in theatre and can demonstrate leadership skills and qualities. You will be expected to lead a team in theatre and at times the department.
Main duties of the job
We require you to have excellent scrub and leadership skills, the successful candidates will work across Monday to Saturday with shifts according to the area of work. In turn, we can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to on-going continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision. Please understand that although this position is at County hospital we are one hospital with Royal Stoke and you may-be required to work there on occasion.
Senior scrub staff will need to take responsibility for the smooth running of the operating list supporting the team in theatre. There may be occasions' when you would be required to work outside of your specific speciality specialities.
