Job Title: Multimodal Freight Operator

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Multimodal Freight Operator. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of shipments across air, sea and road. Ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods for our customers. This is a key role within their operations department, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of international freight forwarding and a passion for delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.
Multimodal Freight Operator Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and manage multimodal shipments from origin to destination
2. Liaise with clients, carriers, customs agents, and overseas partners
3. Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation (AWBs, BOLs, CMRs, etc.)
4. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company procedures
5. Track and trace shipments, providing updates and proactive communication to customers
6. Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-efficiency
7. Handle any delays, discrepancies, or issues in transit with professionalism and urgency
8. Maintain accurate files, data entry, and reporting in internal systems
Multimodal Freight Operator Requirements:
9. Previous experience in a freight forwarding or logistics environment
10. Solid understanding of multimodal transport (air, sea and road)
11. Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international trade compliance
12. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
13. Strong communication and customer service abilities
14. Comfortable working with freight software and Microsoft Office tools
15. Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems proactively
