We’re looking for a Credit Acquisition Lead (Technical Specialist) to shape and optimise our motor finance credit framework. You’ll be the go-to expert on credit policy, decisioning rules, and analytics, helping drive compliant, effective, and profitable growth across the credit lifecycle.

What will your day look like?
* Translate credit strategy and risk appetite into policies, decisioning rules, and underwriting guidance.
* Maintain and optimise credit frameworks, scorecards, rulesets, and automated/manual underwriting pathways.
* Monitor acquisition performance, analyse risks, and recommend improvements to controls, scorecards, and processes.
* Ensure all credit activities comply with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, affordability standards, and TCF outcomes.
* Provide expert technical advice and analytical insights to underwriting, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Lead and support operational improvements, system updates, and cross-functional credit initiatives.
What do we expect from you?
Essential:
* Extensive experience in credit risk within motor finance, automotive lending, or asset finance.
* Expertise in credit policy, underwriting rules, affordability frameworks, and bureau data.
* Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
* Knowledge of credit decisioning systems, scoring methods, and rule engines.
* Ability to document complex policies clearly and logically.
* Understanding of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, affordability, and conduct requirements.
* Confident communicator with ability to influence stakeholders using evidence-based reasoning.
Desirable:
* Experience with risk-based pricing or behavioural scorecards.
* Understanding of motor finance distribution channels (dealers, brokers, introducers).
* Involvement in digital decisioning, automation, or transformation projects.
* Familiarity with SAS, SQL, or analytics tools (or ability to interpret outputs).
