TheWealthPoint – Analysis, Advice Design, and Suitability Reporting
We don't do cookie-cutter advice. We don't do "tick-box" planning. And we certainly don't do product-led sales. At TheWealthPoint, we do financial planning that's rooted in real lives, big decisions, and long-term impact. And none of it happens without great technical paraplanners.
Location: Liverpool (Onsite or Hybrid)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £42,000
About the role
As a Technical Paraplanner, you'll be the analytical force behind our financial advice. You'll take the lead on constructing the advice framework for each financial plan—digging deep into client circumstances, stress-testing options, identifying issues, and ensuring the output is technically sound, compliant, and personalised.
You won't be in meetings. You'll be in the background—collaborating with our Client Facing Paraplanners and Financial Planners to make sure every recommendation is built on solid ground. Your job is to protect the integrity of the advice and ensure we deliver outstanding outcomes, every time.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
* Take pride in precision and get satisfaction from solving complex puzzles.
* Prefer deep work over distractions and enjoy owning a case through to delivery.
* See every suitability report as a chance to improve someone's life, not just tick a compliance box.
* Enjoy collaborating with financial planners but don't want to be one.
* Are naturally sceptical—if something doesn't make sense, you chase it down.
* Want to be part of a firm that values thinking time as much as client time.
* Are Level 4 qualified and are already or want to work toward Chartered / CFP
What you'll be responsible for
* Interpreting fact finds, cashflows, and meeting notes to identify planning opportunities and construct the advice framework.
* Carrying out deep technical analysis across pensions, tax planning, protection, and investments.
* Leading the creation of suitability reports—initial, ongoing, and ad hoc.
* Project managing implementation cases through to sign-off, liaising with the rest of the advice and admin team.
* Preparing technical summaries, recommendation matrices, and investment comparisons.
* Using cashflow modelling software and risk profiling tools to support the advice process.
* Keeping up to date with changes in regulation, tax law, and financial products.
What great looks like
* You take ownership for the quality and rigour of your work—no cutting corners.
* You're obsessed with getting it right the first time, but still open to challenge and feedback.
* You thrive in the background, enjoy complexity, and take pride in enabling others to shine.
* You're not afraid to challenge advisers if something doesn't stack up.
* You think like a planner, but act like an engineer.
What we value
* Clarity: You make complex things clear.
* Rigour: You value precision and care about the detail.
* Accountability: You own your work and back yourself to deliver.
* Curiosity: You ask questions, test assumptions, and dig deeper.
* Team over ego: You know this is a team sport and collaborate accordingly.
Career Path
This role is designed to be a technical specialist position, not a stepping stone into advising. That said, you'll be on the frontline of financial planning decisions, constantly growing your technical depth, and playing a vital part in transforming lives through high-quality advice.
