Technical auditor (GVA or UK)
Technical Audit has become a key pillar of the FIA’s responsibilities in recent years, covering technical compliance as well as operational and financial aspects of Power Unit Manufacturers’ and F1 Teams’ participation in the Formula One World Championship.
We are seeking a Technical Auditor to join the Single Seater Technical Department.
You will report to the Head of Technical Audit and collaborate closely with stakeholders to implement and monitor compliance with Technical, Sporting, Operational, and Financial Regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor, analyze, and audit activities of F1 Teams and Power Unit Manufacturers, including dyno activities, aerodynamic development, and inventory usage, through site visits and inspections at races and test events.
* Develop and improve technical auditing and reporting tools and processes.
* Liaise with teams and manufacturers, providing guidance and resolving compliance issues.
* Contribute to regulatory development and drafting technical guidance.
* Support the F1 Cost Cap Administration and Regulations through technical reporting and inspections.
* Coordinate with other FIA departments to ensure compliance across areas.
Profile:
* Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related Engineering fields, or equivalent.
* At least 10 years of experience in motorsports, automotive, or aeronautical engineering, preferably in R&D, design, or operations related to F1 chassis or power units.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of French, German, Italian, or Japanese is a plus.
* Proficient in data analysis and familiar with MATLAB, Python, SQL, CAD systems.
* Strong understanding of complex regulatory frameworks.
* Data-driven, methodical, detail-oriented, fair-minded.
* Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
* Team-oriented, proactive, solutions-focused, self-motivated.
