We're Hiring: Mechanical Designer (MEP) - Birmingham\n 📍 Location: Birmingham (office-based with hybrid flexibility)\n 💼 Type: Permanent\n 💷 Package: Competitive salary + benefits + long-term career pathway \nWe're working with a highly reputable MEP consultancy based in Birmingham that delivers turnkey building services design across the UK. Due to continued project wins, they're now looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Designer to lead the full mechanical scope of works across a range of fast-paced retail projects.\n\n🧰 The Role\n\nYou'll take ownership of the full mechanical design lifecycle - from early-stage concept through to detailed technical drawings and IFC (Issued for Construction) packs - using Revit as your primary design tool. \nYou will be responsible for:\n\nProducing detailed HVAC and public health system designs\n\nWorking as part of a wider BIM and MEP team to deliver coordinated Revit models\n\nCompleting load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, layouts and schematics\n\nSupporting pre-construction phases with technical documentation, specs, and client presentations\n\nEnsuring designs meet CIBSE guidelines, Part L compliance, and all relevant building standards\nThe majority of work involves retail rollouts, including fit-outs and refurbishments for major brands - meaning you'll need to be comfortable with fast turnaround programmes and tight coordination across disciplines.\n\n🔎 What We're Looking For\n\n3+ years' experience in mechanical building services design (HVAC, public health)\n\nStrong proficiency with Revit MEP (essential) and familiarity with AutoCAD or MagiCAD\n\nUnderstanding of relevant standards and regulations (CIBSE, British Standards, etc.)\n\nConfident working across all RIBA stages, ideally on retail or commercial schemes\n\nComfortable working in a collaborative design team with electrical and BIM counterparts\n\n🚀 Why Join?\n\nWork with a respected MEP firm on UK-wide retail design programmes\n\nBe part of a technically strong, agile team where your input directly shapes delivery\n📨 Ready to design the future of retail?\n Apply now or message Louis Taylor at \n 📞 (phone number removed)
