Job description
We’re looking for a patient, understanding mentor to support a Year 9 student with severe SEN needs who requires a positive adult role model to help guide them back into education. This student has ADHD and undiagnosed ASD, tends to be very private, and often withdraws from social interaction. Your role will focus on building trust, confidence, and life skills rather than formal education.
What you’ll do:
1. Begin sessions by developing self-esteem and confidence.
2. Support social integration through positive, engaging activities.
3. Plan sessions around life skills and enjoyable experiences such as: Walks in the community Cooking activities Library visits Trips to cafés
Ideal qualities:
4. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people.
5. Patient, empathetic, and creative in planning activities.
6. Experience supporting students with SEN needs (desirable).
7. 6 month experience within an education setting
8. DBS ( Or willingness to apply for one )

10. Location: Christchurch
11. Hours: Flexible, 2-3 hours a week
12. Pay: £25-£30 per hour (depending on experience)
