Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially astute Investment Associate to join a leading renewable energy company specializing in solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and other energy assets. The company is an asset owner, involved in project financing and asset management across its portfolio, requiring a candidate with strong financial modeling, investment analysis, due diligence and project development experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy investment, infrastructure finance, or asset management. Candidates with strong financial modelling expertise are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

* Financial Modeling & Analysis – Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess project returns, risks, and capital structures.
* Investment Due Diligence – Participate in or lead due diligence activities which include market research, risk assessment, and technical evaluations for potential solar, BESS, and traditional energy investments. Liaise with third-party advisors when required.
* Project Financing Support – Assist in structuring debt and equity financing for renewable projects, working with lenders and investors to secure funding.
* Asset Management Oversight – Work closely with the asset management team to optimize operational performance and ensure financial returns.
* Stakeholder & Investor Relations – Support engagement with institutional investors, project developers, and financial institutions.
* Regulatory & Market Analysis – Monitor policy and regulatory changes impacting the renewable energy sector and evaluate their financial implications.
* M&A & Transaction Support – Assist in the valuation, negotiation, and execution of energy project acquisitions and disposals.

Key Skills & Competencies

* Strong expertise in project finance, investment analysis, and financial modeling within the energy sector.
* Experience in renewable energy project financing, including debt structuring, tax equity, and risk assessment.
* Deep understanding of solar, BESS, and conventional energy markets in the UK and Europe.
* Ability to interpret PPAs, EPC contracts, operating contracts and operational asset reports.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with investors, lenders, and developers.
* Highly proficient in Excel, financial modeling tools, and investment analysis software.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment.

Education & Certifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
* CFA / ACA / MBA (preferred but not required).
* Relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, or infrastructure finance is highly desirable.
