Job Description:
We are currently working with a local authority who are recruiting a permanent Building M&E and Compliance Manager to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service for the maintenance and improvement of council housing stock and the local environment.
Building M&E and Compliance Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £47,745 per annum
Hybrid working arrangement 2 days per week
Responsibilities:
* Manage all compliance and building safety matters across the council properties.
* Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with UK safety standards, including:
* Gas safety
* Electrical systems
* Promptly address and resolve any non-compliance issues identified during inspections.
* Oversee specific safety inspections such as:
* Gas safety checks
* Fire risk assessments
* Maintain accurate and detailed records to support compliance and audit requirements.
* Achieve 100% access to council homes for mandatory gas servicing and electrical testing.
* Collaborate closely with Customer Liaison Officers to ensure resident cooperation and access.
* Operate within legal, financial, time, and policy constraints to meet safety and compliance goals.
Requirements:
* Building services-related degree or equivalent qualification or a degree in property.
* Understanding of compliance management.
* At least 5 years of qualitative experience.
* Staff and project management experience.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications
