Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: • 5 years building customer-facing web applications end-to-end (frontend backend). • Strong React / Next.js skills and ability to build production-quality UI (not just prototypes). • Strong backend fundamentals (Node.js / TypeScript preferred) and solid database design skills (Postgres). • Experience building transactional flows involving payments, edge cases, failure states, and user trust. • Self-directed, ownership mindset, comfortable working closely with founders in an early-stage environment. Responsibilities: You will be the first engineering hire, working directly with the founders to build the first production-ready version of SwapTix. Your responsibilities will include: • Owning the MVP build end-to-end (frontend, backend, database and deployment). • Building transactional marketplace flows including listing, buying, payments, cancellations, refunds and failure states. • Implementing authentication, permissions and basic admin tooling. • Designing clean APIs, data models and scalable architecture foundations. • Setting up engineering discipline: repository structure, CI/CD, environments, logging and monitoring. • Working in short delivery cycles with weekly milestones and demos. • Writing maintainable, well-tested code with long-term scalability in mind. • Contributing to product decisions, especially around clarity, transparency and user trust. This is a high-ownership role with real influence over architecture and technical standards.
