HGV Class 1 Driver – Alfreton, Derbyshire
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Shifts
• Monday to Friday
• 06:00 starts
• Up to 4 nights out per week
Rates of Pay
• £16.15 per hour (Monday – Friday)
• £25.00 per night out

Day-to-Day Duties
• Operating and driving HGV Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing nationwide deliveries with up to 4 nights out per week
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
• Ensuring all cargo is correctly loaded, secured, and delivered safely
• Adhering to all UK traffic laws and driver hours regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading where required
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum of 24 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsements)
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• Strong understanding of UK transport and road safety regulations
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop or long-distance driving experience
Training Provided
• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following successful assessment
