We are currently looking for a Land Disposals Surveyor to join our Land Development Team at Tarmac. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the largest land portfolios in the UK and develop your capabilities across sectors including residential, commercial, natural capital, and leisure.
Tarmac's Land Development Team is innovative, high-achieving, and successful, delivering projects ranging from a dozen homes to a 2,500-home new settlement, rural business centres, and logistics hubs over 1 million square feet. The team also focuses on biodiversity, renewable opportunities, leisure, and recreation proposals.
You will work as part of an experienced, professional Land Development team, including Chartered Surveyors and Town Planners. Your role will contribute to team and company-wide projects, helping deliver significant profit to meet financial targets. You will also collaborate with Strategic Planning and Asset Management teams to identify opportunities within Tarmac's extensive landholdings and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
No two days will be the same; this role involves identifying and unlocking the potential in Tarmac's extensive land portfolio.
Role Responsibilities:
* Reporting directly to the National Land Disposals Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse national land portfolio of approximately 110,000 acres.
* Assisting with the disposal of development land to housebuilders, developers, and individuals across the country.
* Collaborating with Development Managers to manage and develop the land and buildings portfolio, both pre and post operational use, to drive value.
* Working closely with external managing agents, landowners, developers, tenants, consultants, and Planning Authorities.
* Managing professional advisers and solicitors to ensure timely advice for business decisions.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Has previous experience in valuation, property/asset management, and property development and disposal processes.
* Experience in real estate valuation appraisals and understanding of land law and legal processes.
* Experience in managing sales processes from marketing to disposal, including negotiations.
* Creative thinking to navigate complex disposals.
* Excellent communication, organizational skills, and confidence in presentations.
* Ability to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels.
* Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex documents.
* Motivated with a passion for adding value and developing strategies for land use.
* Flexible, positive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
