Senior Minerals and Waste Planner
Hybrid working (minimum 1 day per week in office, flexible). £40-50 p/h (depending on experience). Initial 6‑month contract.
An opportunity for an experienced Senior Minerals and Waste Planner to support a local authority planning team, focusing on Development Management and Enforcement within a minerals and waste planning setting. This role involves managing a range of planning applications and enforcement cases, alongside site visits and stakeholder engagement to support effective decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
* Manage minerals and waste planning applications through the Development Management process
* Undertake enforcement investigations and support case resolution
* Carry out site visits and attend meetings as required
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
* Provide professional planning advice in line with policy and legislation
Requirements
* Significant experience in Development Management
* Experience within a minerals and waste planning environment (preferred)
* Knowledge of planning enforcement processes
* Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Full‑time position (37 hours per week), with flexibility on working hours and open to part‑time candidates.
