Job Title: Personal Assistant
About Me
I am a 37-year-old man living in Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff. I have special needs including deafness, speech difficulties, and I feed via a Mickey tube system, so I cannot eat normally. I am a non-smoker. I enjoy watching sports like rugby and football, socialising, going to the cinema, and playing bowling or other activities I can participate in. My speech can be difficult to understand, but I can use sign language with Deaf friends, which can be helpful in some situations.
Purpose of the Job
The role is to support me and my family by providing companionship and assistance during social outings and community activities, ensuring I am in good hands with a trusted individual.
Location
In and around the local community in Abercynon.
Hours and Pay
20 hours per month, mainly on Saturdays. The rate is £12.90 per hour, including mileage where applicable.
Responsibilities
* Assist with socialising and participating in community events
* Support during outings, including attending rugby matches and other activities
* Help access community resources and events
Person Specification
Applicants should be approachable, reliable, trustworthy, and patient. They should be able to access my home village and enjoy spending time out of the home, possibly exploring new activities. A driver with business class insurance is required.
Additional Information
This is a proper part-time job requiring a National Insurance number. A trial period will be conducted. Pay is monthly on submission of a payslip from the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks of paid holiday (pro-rata). A DBS check may be required at no cost to you.
