The Department and The Building Control Team
This is an exciting opportunity within the newly formed Department for Business, Growth and Infrastructure, where the focus will be on delivering large-scale development proposals to advance the Borough over the next decade.
Our busy Building Control Section handles a wide range of projects, from commercial town centre schemes to domestic developments. Bury has a vibrant development sector, and we aim to build on our successes. The borough's excellent transport links, including direct access to the M66, M60, and M62, along with the Metrolink tram network to Manchester City Centre, support this growth.
The Posts
We seek hardworking, ambitious, and enthusiastic surveyors with excellent communication skills who are committed team players.
The roles are career-grade positions, primarily aimed at experienced individuals with substantial Building Control experience who can join the team seamlessly.
Pay/Grading
The roles are based on a 37-hour week, with a career grade salary scale from 10 to 16, ranging from £35,412 to £53,460 per annum (subject to Local Pay Award). These positions support career progression, with entry levels adjusted based on experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates registered with the Building Safety Regulator at levels 2A-2F & 3G/H to support current activities.
Experience
We are looking for a hardworking, ambitious, and innovative Building Control Officer with excellent communication skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work within a team of qualified staff to deliver our Building Control Service.
