PROJECT MANAGER – ENERGY & UTILITIES (SHETLANDS)

Location: Based in Shetland Islands (Office / site presence needed)
Package: Competitive salary + car allowance + strong progression opportunities

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver energy and utilities projects across multiple sites in the Shetland Islands. With a strong secured workload and a growing long-term pipeline, this role offers excellent stability, long-term project exposure, and clear career progression.

Based in Shetland, you will manage multiple concurrent projects across the islands, delivering complex electrical and utility infrastructure works while working closely with DNOs, ICPs, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* End-to-end project management of projects from initiation to completion

* Management of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) works

* Coordination with DNOs and ICPs

* Oversight of electrical and utilities works, with civils delivered by specialist teams

* Delivery of:

o Underground cabling

o 132kV substation works

o Battery storage installations

o M&E packages

* Programme management using Primavera P6

* Development and management of project plans, programmes, budgets, resources, and risk registers

* Full financial control including cost tracking, forecasting, variations, and invoicing

* Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors to maximise efficiency and performance

* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

* Monitoring project performance against KPIs and implementing corrective actions where required

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Project Manager within utilities, energy, or infrastructure environments

* Strong background in electrical works, cabling, substations, BESS, and utility installations

* Previous experience working with DNOs, either directly or as an ICP

* Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously

* Strong commercial and financial management capability

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office

* Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2 desirable)

* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (desirable)

* Full UK driving licence
