Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and develop the History department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
2. Inspire and motivate both students and colleagues through dynamic leadership
3. Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality History lessons across KS3–KS4 (and potentially KS5)
4. Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and progression
5. Monitor and track student outcomes, implementing interventions where necessary
6. Support the professional development of teaching staff within the department
7. Contribute to the wider school leadership and strategic direction
Requirements:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
9. Proven track record of outstanding History teaching
10. Experience leading or supporting departmental initiatives (preferred)
11. Strong classroom management and excellent subject knowledge
12. Passion for History education and a commitment to student achievement
13. Effective communication, organisation, and leadership skills
