Duties of the Dealership Accountant:
7. Lead and manage the accounts department ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data
8. Produce management accounts and forecasts in line with company policies and deadlines
9. Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, purchase, and sales ledgers
10. Prepare and review manufacturer composite information and stock valuations
11. Provide financial guidance and support to departmental managers
12. Conduct inductions and ongoing training for accounts team members
13. Monitor and improve department efficiency and compliance with legislation
14. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data
15. Assist with month-end procedures and year-end audit preparations
Candidate specification for the Dealership Accountant:
16. Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Accountant or Accountant within a dealership environment
17. Familiarity with CDK/Kerridge systems highly preferred
18. Strong understanding of dealership accounts and financial reporting
19. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
20. Excellent organisational and communication skills
21. Ability to meet strict deadlines and work accurately under pressure
22. Knowledge of current financial regulations and best practices in automotive finance
