Educational Teaching Assistant - All Saints Catholic College
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated Educational Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting learning and building positive relationships with children with a range of needs. The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to do so.
Overview
Location: All Saints Catholic College, Specialist in Humanities, Bradley Bar, Huddersfield, HD2 2JT. Type: Permanent. Grade: 6. Salary: £18,597 - £19,822 (31.5 hours).
Hours
31 hours 30 minutes term time plus 1 day – Monday and Friday 8.45am-3.15pm; Tuesday – Thursday 8.45am-3.45pm.
Responsibilities
You will work under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff to implement and oversee agreed learning activities with individual and small groups of students, in or out of the classroom. This may involve assisting in the planning, preparation and delivery of the learning activities, as well as monitoring students, assessing, recording and reporting on achievement, progress and development, under the direction of the class teacher.
You will need to work collaboratively and flexibly and build good relationships with staff and key parents, demonstrating a respectful and caring attitude towards everyone in school.
Experience of working with children in a school environment and having the appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to support students are essential. Any experience of supporting students with emotional and social needs would be an advantage. This role is ideal for those wanting to further their career in education and who have a desire to secure the best outcomes for young people with SEND.
Qualifications and Professional Development
All SEND ETA staff have the opportunity to engage in CACHE qualifications. CACHE qualifications are awarded by the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education for those working in the education sectors. Qualifications include, for example, Improving the Support of Students with Dyslexia or Understanding Autism. All CACHE courses lead to a nationally recognised Ofqual regulated qualification and are accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework.
About the School
All Saints is an 11-16 school, situated near the northern boundary of Kirklees. We are a Catholic school with students attending from diverse cultural backgrounds. In November 2022, Ofsted judged All Saints “Good” in every category, and we received a “Good with Outstanding Catholic Life and Mission” judgement from our Catholic Schools Inspection in March 2025.
