Our client, a well‑known family run social housing contractor is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis due to company expansion.

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wisbech/Norwich/Grantham
Start Date: ASAP
Salary:£60,000 - £65,000 per annum
Duties & Responsibilities
* To undertake all Quantity Surveying duties on your contracts.
* To direct and control all financial and legal aspects of your construction contract ensuring that it is profitable.
* To be aware of the companys business plan and its aims
* To establish, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships with the client and all members of the client’s team.
* Prepare any loss and expense claims arising out of the extension of time claims.
* Ensure all subcontractors are on our approved list
* Working with the contract team to manage the design on a design and build contract with a view of ensuring that changes are made for the financial benefit of the company.
* Working with the team to ensure that the request for information schedule includes financial or legal elements
* To establish a procurement strategy, with a procurement schedule in line with the time requirements of the operational and design deliverables for the project.
Desirable Experience
* A very high level of commercial awareness of the industry
* A good knowledge of building law, the law of contract and statutory requirements
* An understanding of financial management
* Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
Qualifications & Skills
* Good organisational and presentation skills
* General business awareness, a practical mind and sound judgement
* Must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team
