Job description

To work as part of the wider Digital, Data and Technology Command providing an effective and efficient transactional disclosure service to support the Constabulary to achieve its strategic objectives.

To be responsible for research, analysis, collation, and disclosure of information and make decisions in line with all Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Quality Assurance Frameworks (QAF) To undertake decision making in relation to the disclosure of information held by the Constabulary, in accordance with the National Police Chief Council (NPCC) and DBS Service Level Agreements (SLA) in support of the DBS disclosure processes pursuant to Part V of the Police Act and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Groups Act

The post-holder will play a key role in fulfilling the Constabulary’s legal obligations under Part V of the Police Act in relation to Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate (ECRC) Disclosures and requests for information from the DBS Barring Arm. (The post-holder is responsible for providing accurate, relevant and timely information on behalf of the Chief Officer to the DBS, which provides a National Disclosure Service; the purpose of which is to assist employers to assess an applicant’s suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults.

The post-holder will have no budgetary responsibilities.

The post-holder will be required to be vetted as a minimum to Management Vetting (MV) and Security Clearance (SC) levels.

Ensure compliance in respect of all disclosure decision making and work within the boundaries of relevant legislation and frameworks, such as NPCC Guidance, Authorised Professional Practice (APP), the DBS Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), the Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act .

The post-holder will operate within existing Force Policies and Procedures and demonstrate professionalism in terms of confidentiality and access to sensitive information.
