About the Role
Balfour Beatty is proud to be delivering the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) – the UK’s flagship carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) project that will play a pivotal role in achieving a cleaner, greener future. NZT is one of the most ambitious energy infrastructure schemes of its kind, and our Major Projects team is looking for talented individuals to join us in shaping history.
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the successful delivery of this pioneering project. This is an opportunity to be part of a once‑in‑a‑generation development that will help the UK achieve its net zero commitments.
Responsibilities
* Provide commercial and contractual support across key work packages.
* Manage subcontract procurement, payments, valuations, and variations.
* Prepare accurate cost forecasts, reports, and risk assessments.
* Ensure robust contract administration and protect Balfour Beatty’s commercial position.
* Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and the client to deliver value and efficiency.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within major infrastructure, civil engineering or energy projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and commercial management skills.
* Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to thrive in a high‑profile, fast‑paced environment.
