Senior Architectural Technician Job in Sevenoaks, Kent
Our client is an employee-owned architectural practice that now has a Senior Architectural Technician job available. The role will involve contributing to a variety of residential schemes, from large-scale housing developments to bespoke, high-end homes. Based across two offices with over twenty members of staff, this employee-owned multidisciplinary practice offers a range of services including architectural, building surveying, and project management.
Current projects include large and small-scale residential development and healthcare projects. Due to continued success, they are now seeking a Senior Architectural Technician to join the residential team.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Take a lead role in the running of projects
2. Focus on residential developments on behalf of housing developers
3. Produce technical drawing packages
4. Prepare budget estimates, specify materials and products, write work descriptions, and develop preliminary documents
5. Create design presentation materials such as boards and layouts
6. Ensure compliance with building regulations, NHBC guidelines, and other relevant laws
7. Assess risks and develop Health and Safety Plans according to regulations
8. Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with drawings and issue instructions as needed
9. Organise drawings and back up computer files regularly
10. Measure existing buildings on-site as required for projects
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 4 years of practice experience
* Confidence in project management
* Skilled in AutoCAD
* Knowledge of UK building regulations
* Experience with UK-based residential projects is essential
* Developer-led project experience is highly desirable
