Join to apply for the Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner role at NHS Scotland
Job Overview
A recent service re‑design has created a new B4 Physiotherapy post within the Kirkcaldy Intermediate Care Team (ICASS), under the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. Services are increasingly shifting from the acute setting to the community, and patients are discharged earlier from hospital, creating a greater need for Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in the community setting. The team plays an essential role in preventing admission to hospital and in supporting early discharge through daily and non‑daily interventions, a falls pathway, and generalised rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of neurological, medical, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* You will be supported through competencies to provide physiotherapy‑based assessment and rehabilitation interventions for patients in a domiciliary setting.
* You will work closely with occupational therapy colleagues and a wider multidisciplinary team within ICASS and community services, delivering quality services that focus on patient personal outcomes.
* The service participates in several local and national initiatives, promoting lifelong learning through a variety of PDP/CPD opportunities, supervision and mentorship.
* Interviews for the post will be held in person and will include a practical element of the interview process.
Requirements
* Rehabilitation experience with older adults within NHS and SVQ 3 is essential.
* The ability to travel throughout the area is also essential as this is a community post.
* You must confirm you have the right to work in the United Kingdom or that the post would be eligible for sponsorship before applying.
* Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If assessed as a regulated role, your appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Any changes to current requirements will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team. For more details, refer to the Disclosure Scotland Changes.
