An opportunity for a Key Stage 1 Teacher has arisen within a reputable Primary School in PRESTON, LANCASHIRE. Early Career Teachers and experienced Teachers are welcome to apply. The role is to begin from September 2025 and will be based within a Year 2 class. The Head teacher will shortlist for interview based on the criteria below.
Key requirements include being a qualified teacher, with recent KS1 class teaching experience and up-to-date knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and pedagogy. Flexibility to attend after school INSET sessions, staff meetings and extra-curricular clubs is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning lessons for all pupils
* Differentiate to meet the needs of all pupils
* Utilise Teaching Assistants when available
* Commit to the wider life of the school and the community
* Attend CPD sessions
* Safeguarding pupils
* Commit to the school's COVID-19 measures to ensure safety of all in the school
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Recent experience working as a class teacher in a KS1 department
* Up-to-date knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and pedagogy
* Strong behaviour management, strong classroom presence and awareness of school policies
* Flexibility to attend after school INSET sessions, staff meetings and extra-curricular clubs
Additional Information
The support for children on Free School Meals and the children who receive funding for Special Educational Needs is excellent across the school and monitored effectively by the dedicated SENCO. You will be well supported by the Head teacher and the SENCO. Both are involved in day-to-day running of the school and will ensure any adverse behaviour is dealt with in line with the school policy.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position; in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
