The Opportunity:
Join a dedicated team at a specialist Alternative Provision (AP) secondary school in Derby (DE1), supporting students with autism, behavioural challenges, and complex needs who require a more tailored educational environment than mainstream settings can offer.
This is a long-term, full-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for experienced SEN practitioners looking to make a lasting impact.
Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to deliver targeted support.

Term-time only role, paid up to £115 per day.
Based in Derby with good transport links and free car parking.
Immediate start, with potential for long-term placement.Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored support under the direction of the SENCo to meet the needs of pupils with autism and behavioural issues.
Helping maintain a calm, and structured learning environment using effective behaviour management strategies.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs.
Help pupils stay engaged in class by adapting resources and tasks as needed.
Promote inclusion and support students' emotional and academic development.
Assist students in developing independence, organisation, and confidence.
Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor and adjust interventionsWho We're Looking For:
A minimum Level 3 qualification (essential).
Experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or specialist SEN setting (preferred).
Strong background in supporting students with ASD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
Someone who is proactive, adaptable, and able to step into the role with confidence, ready to make an immediate, positive impact
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to managing behaviour.
Passion for inclusive education and helping young people succeed against the odds.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
