Person specification
Knowledge, Skills and Training
Essential criteria
1. Registered practitioner to degree / diploma level supplemented by diploma level specialist training and / or short courses or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty
2. Membership of the relevant Professional Body
3. Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training
4. Evidence of recent professional development in an up to date portfolio
5. Knowledge and understanding of Trust Strategy relevant to role
Job Specific Experience
Essential criteria
6. Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to Practice
7. Ability to evaluate care leading to improvement in quality standards and service improvement
8. Ability to teach staff new to the clinical area, less experienced staff, students and members of the multi-disciplinary team
9. Able to demonstrate highly developed physical skills where accuracy is important such as in the manipulation of fine tools and materials for patient interventions
10. Experience of multi-disciplinary working
Desirable criteria
11. Recent previous experience within a comparable role
12. Experience of managing change
Managerial/Supervisory Experience
Essential criteria
13. Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively, and supervise others’ work

15. Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation in both verbal and written form for example with staff, patients / service users, visitors or external organisations in the exchange of complex,sensitive or contentious information, which will require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills
16. Able to overcome barriers to understanding where there are physical or mental disabilities
17. Experience of planning and organising complex activities such as organising own time and that of junior staff and learners, planning off duty rota and undertaking discharge planning involving co-ordination with other agencies
