Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our café. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. As the Café Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Duties
* Oversee daily café operations, ensuring efficiency and quality in food preparation and service.
* Manage staff schedules, training, and development to foster a positive work environment.
* Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
* Utilize POS systems
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the café.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
* Conduct interviews and hire new staff members as needed to build a strong team.
* Monitor budgetary goals and assist in financial planning for the café's operations. Working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero and/or Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food production and presentation.
* Lead by example in all aspects of café management, including shift management and team leadership.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
* Experience with cash handling and familiarity with POS systems
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
* Ability to train, develop, and motivate staff while fostering teamwork.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory control and budgeting.
* Previous experience in hospitality management or kitchen management is an asset.
