API Integrations Engineer | Education/EdTech | Up to £50k DOE | Fully Remote
Our client is in the EdTech sector, creating specialist, one-of-a-kind solutions for use in education.
They’re seeking an API Integrations Engineer to design and deliver robust, scalable integrations and data pipelines that power their platform. This is a hands-on senior technical role with responsibility for connecting diverse data sources, optimising data flows, and ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, and future-proof.
You will play a key role in shaping the data architecture, leading integration development, and collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain API integrations, including RESTful services, authentication mechanisms, and data contracts
Develop and support data pipelines and automation scripts using Python
Manage and optimise ETL processes to ensure performance, scalability, and data quality
Work within cloud data environments, primarily Azure (Microsoft Fabric experience is desirable)
Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective integration solutions
Produce clear, high-quality documentation and ensure adherence to best practices in API and data management
Support data visualisation workflows and integrations with Power BI
Drive continuous improvement across data flows, system interoperability, and integration standards
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience designing and implementing APIs (REST, authentication, data contracts)
Strong Python skills for building data pipelines and automation
Solid expertise in ETL processes and data architecture
Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure or similar)
Good understanding of Power BI and data visualisation principles
Strong communication skills with a track record of effective stakeholder collaboration
Commitment to clean documentation and best-practice engineering
Desirable:
Experience with Microsoft Fabric
Background in education or EdTech (advantageous but not essential)
