As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Treasury & Chief Investment Office (TCIO), Corporate Technology team at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role in an Agile feature team. Your duties will include designing, improving, building, and delivering high-quality technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Using your extensive technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities, you will address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications, thereby having a significant impact on the business. This position is ideal for a proactive team member who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes responsibility for tasks, and enjoys collaborative problem-solving, especially for the trading desk.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop, enhance, and support the Trade Execution Platform, which is critical to trading and other business activities.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to support the business and technical teams.
* Create, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code.
* Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations, following best practices and architectural roadmaps.
* Serve as a subject matter expert in Python & Java.
* Proactively identify system and process improvements to reduce risk and enhance performance.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues to align on technical solutions and business needs.
* Design and develop creative software solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and think beyond routine approaches.
* Contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC practices.
* Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Formal training or certification in software engineering with advanced applied experience.
* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Advanced proficiency in Python & Java programming languages and frameworks.
* Deep expertise in software applications and technical processes in one or more disciplines.
* Ability to troubleshoot design and functionality issues independently.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical colleagues.
* Solid background in object-oriented programming and writing clean, scalable code.
* Effective teamwork skills within a global environment.
* Experience with automation, continuous delivery, and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Financial industry experience, especially with investment banking products like fixed income and derivatives.
* Project execution experience with strong communication skills.
* Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS.
* Knowledge of cloud-native software design and container orchestration (K8s).
