About the role
We are looking to recruit a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to work within our Acute Adult Inpatient Team. It is a varied role which will involve working closely and supporting your dietetic colleagues, as well as various multidisciplinary teams, to support patients under older people's medicine, gastroenterology, neurology and stroke, respiratory, cardiology, oncology, surgery, and more. We offer regular supervision and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
Assist dietitians to provide the highest standards of patient care. Take responsibility for the dietetic/nutritional management of patients on your caseload in accordance with agreed pathways for care and direct and indirect supervision from a qualified Dietitian. Work with adult inpatients from a wide range of clinical specialties within the acute team, including medicine for the elderly, respiratory, oncology, gastroenterology, surgical and more. Provide care for patients requiring different levels of nutrition support, including oral and enteral nutrition support. Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects, as well as participation in research and audit. Deliver presentations and teaching sessions such as nutritional screening training to ward staff.
Qualifications
Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and prepared to work flexibly in a busy environment. Highly organized and forward thinking. Confident in delivering presentations and teaching sessions.
