Jones Engineering has a requirement for a GC Commercial Lead, to join and manage the commercial aspects and project delivery function on a project in the London Area, United Kingdom.
Jones Engineering, in a move to increase Efficiency & Predictability, improve Safety, minimise the level of Disruption to Site, Client & the Environment; and reduce the time frame of Basis of Design (BOD) to Facility (FR), have invested heavily in the past number of years, in not just leaner ways of working, but challenging how the Engineering & Construction sector approaches the delivery of projects.
With Jones Engineering already being an international specialist in the provision of fast-track Modular Construction; our Modular & Bespoke Manufacturing Solutions specialist team brings a change towards a more efficient process for our customers; allowing our clients to maximise the potential of their project under one roof from Design through to Off-Site Manufacture/Assembly.
Our multidisciplinary team (having a core understanding of traditional stick build construction) have delivered on several “Product Modules” for clients based on the simple ideal of “plug and play”; whereby they have taken a Client BOD to fully tested and commissioned CE / UKCA Marked products ready for site infrastructure integration.

Role/Requirements
* The GC Commercial Lead will undertake oversight of commercial activities related to the day-to-day activities of the company along with being responsible for organising the successful delivery of projects (including site integration where applicable). The successful candidate must have a strong construction & commercial discipline background.
* Aid in the pursuit of new project work by attending pre-bid meetings; identify scope, schedule, and budget; actively participate in preparation of proposals; lead client interviews and presentations as needed.
* Work closely with engineering (design and manufacturing), procurement and the commercial teams to establish the project scope and deliverables.
* Develop project execution plans including definition of scope, schedule, communication, delivery, and handover aspects of projects.
* Maintain project resource plans and schedules.
* Creating and managing budgets – both Operational & Project Specific (including interfacing with company accounts team on a regular basis).
* Properly identify and assess project risks, reporting on the Operational & Project status on a weekly basis.
* Develop and maintain positive client relationships for all projects executed by Jones Engineering Manufacturing Ltd.
* Engage and manage consultants and Manufacturing Contractors as required.
* Candidate should be a high-energy professional with excellent communication, organisation, and analytical skills.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial), or a Commercial discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Business, or Finance)
* Minimum 10+ years’ experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries
* Proven track record in commercial project delivery, including budgeting, procurement, and resource planning
* Experience leading or supporting pre-bid/tender processes and client-facing presentations
* Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
* Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting
* Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and supplier management
* Experience coordinating with engineering/design teams, commercial teams, and manufacturing/production functions
* Ability to manage project risk, schedules, and deliverables under strict deadlines
* Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
* High level of organisation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
* Energetic and proactive, capable of working independently and as part of a leadership team
