You will be joining a fast‑paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. The company focuses on air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions that are both cost effective and time sensitive.
Job Description
As a Freight Forwarder you will report to the International Shipping & Freight Manager on a daily basis and be responsible for the following areas in the Sutton Coldfield office:
- Managing pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export for air, sea and road freight.
- Managing air, sea and ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end‑to‑end shipping and customs documentation.
- Developing and building relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients based on their business requirements.
- Informing customers about freight prices, port charges, costs of special documents, insurance prices and handling charges.
- Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
- Documenting operations and transportation (booking, airway bills and loading confirmation).
- Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements across a variety of INCOTerms.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in either air, sea or road freight forwarding. The ideal Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years' experience in freight forwarding, transport planning.
- Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding.
- Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential).
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
- Commutable to Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham on a hybrid basis.
