Overview
Drainage Engineer role at Lanes Group. Location: Millbrook Depot (Southampton, Hampshire). Job Type: Permanent, full-time. Hours: 4 Days On 4 Days Off, 40.25 hours average per week. We are recruiting for Drainage Engineers to work in 2-person teams, covering the whole of Hampshire, as part of our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems. We operate 24/7 and training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard.
Responsibilities
* Travelling to residential sites via HGV in a two person team, around the region powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Delivering good customer service.
* Maintaining good H&S practice while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities i.e. PPE / safe site set ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and any updates.
* Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions using appropriate PPE and lone worker systems.
* Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on arrival circumstances.
* Provide support to your colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
* Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
* The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards.
* Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
* Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
