Assistant Management Accountant – a newly created role with a rapidly expanding international business

Location: Hitchin / Hybrid (2–3 days in office)

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a fast-paced, global finance function. Supporting the Management Accountant, you’ll be involved in a wide range of accounting activities, gaining strong exposure to month-end, reporting, and multi-entity operations.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build on existing experience and progress within a dynamic and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with month-end close, including journals and supporting schedules
2. Support balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
3. Maintain general ledger accounts
4. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting
5. Support audit processes
6. Ensure accuracy of financial records and internal controls
7. Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
8. Support bank and cash reconciliations
9. Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather financial data
10. Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies
11. Provide ad hoc support to the wider finance team
Skills & Experience
12. Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant role
13. Experience using NetSuite is essential
14. Strong understanding of core accounting principles
15. Experience supporting month-end processes
16. Exposure to multi-entity and/or international businesses
17. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
18. Confident Excel user
19. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
20. Studying towards ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent) is beneficial
