We have a vacancy within our housekeeping service on our acute wards, providing comprehensive cleaning services across our two inpatient sites in South Derbyshire: Kingsway Hospital and the Radbourne Unit (located on the Royal Derby site).
The available position is a 25-hour week, working five days with alternate weekends, from 12:00 to 17:00.
Main Duties of the Job
Housekeepers provide a high-quality cleaning service to all Trust buildings, ensuring a clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Duties include:
* Damp mopping and buffing all floor surfaces, including machinery use, as per cleaning schedules.
* Vacuuming all carpeted areas with appropriate machinery.
* Damp dusting radiators, pipes, and ledges.
* Cleaning furniture and fittings using suitable methods.
* Performing high dusting.
* Cleaning partition glass and interior windows as needed.
* Cleaning all sanitary fittings and wall tiles.
* Emptying refuse bins and cleaning refuse holders.
* Cleaning lockers, beds, and mattresses when vacated by patients.
Additional Housekeeping Duties (area-dependent):
* Preparing dining areas for meals.
* Assisting nursing staff to serve and present meals attractively.
* Washing meal and break pots using dishwashers and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
* Participating as a team member, including attending meetings.
* Carrying out other non-patient duties as directed by the Unit Manager.
* Completing relevant paperwork as required.
