Being a part of this team, will accelerate your career. Take a closer look at the role: We are seeking an Aero Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team at the new Silverstone facility. In this role, you’ll work as part of a highly skilled design group developing our 60% wind tunnel model and testing infrastructure. You will design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems to support aerodynamic testing and development. Key Responsibilities: Design high-quality mechanical components for the wind tunnel model. Contribute to all phases of design for mechanical systems related to the wind tunnel model, test facilities, and aerodynamic instrumentation. Analyse and optimise designs to enhance system performance and reliability. Deliver mechanical design solutions in line with project scope. Propose and implement improvements to design methodologies, processes, and procedures. Research and evaluate new technologies and materials for mechanical system development. Support occasional travel requirements related to the role. Requirements A degree in Mechanical/Motorsport Engineering with a strong focus on mechanical systems and design. Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the motorsport industry or other high-performance engineering environments. Proficient in 3D CAD software, with a strong preference for experience using 3DExperience/CATIA. Deep understanding of core mechanical engineering principles, including structural integrity, kinematics and system integration. Hands-on experience with structural validation techniques such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support robust and reliable design. Strong knowledge of materials and modern manufacturing methods, including composite materials, subtractive and additive manufacturing, and rapid prototyping. Solid grasp of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in high-precision assemblies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision, even under tight deadlines and fast-paced development cycles.
