We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Grounds Maintenance Operative in HMP Hindley, Barracks Road, Wigan WN2 5TH.
The salary is £26,141.95 and there will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Monday to Thursday 07:45 - 16:45, Friday to Sunday 07:45 - 15:45.

What You Will Do
* General Grounds Maintenance, such as grass cutting, pruning, hedge trimming, clearing leaves litter, verges and weed spraying.
* General good housekeeping, including litter picking around the grounds if required.
* General handymen duties including, building flat pack furniture, putting up shelves if required.
* Assist in Facility Management duties as required directed by Team Supervisor.
What You Will Bring
* Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
* Knowledge and experience of Grounds Maintenance type duties including gardening, horticulture operations.
* Experience in operating light plant and equipment including Motorised Tractors.
* Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
