Job description

Working: The role does require individuals to be onsite fulltime but does offer flexible working hours (with NO CORE HOURS) - It offers exposure to key areas such as health and safety compliance, quality management systems, and continuous improvement practices, providing a strong foundation for career development. With the chance to contribute to real projects, learn specialist skills, and take on increasing responsibility, it's a valuable stepping stone into a successful career in electronic testing and engineering. - This position focuses on testing electrical and electronic assemblies to MOD and commercial standards, ensuring health and safety compliance while delivering high-quality results on time and within cost guidelines. - Key responsibilities
1. To ensure health and safety legislation and policies are adhered to, to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
2. Test electrical and electronic assemblies and equipment using standard safe operating procedures to MOD and commercial standards.
3. Devise suitable test fixtures, rigs, and procedures in liaison with the Engineering department.
4. Work with Operations/Engineering to resolve problems as and when they occur remaining commercially focused.
5. Demonstrate equipment performance to customers and representatives.
6. Produce documentary evidence of test routines.
7. Ensure compliance with statutory/company rules and procedures.
8. Liaise with Engineering with regards any design changes or rectification.
9. To operate equipment in a safe and effective manner.
10. Demonstrate and adhere to our company values at all times.
11. Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
12. To complete the job on time within the costing guidelines as advised by Management.
Qualifications / Skills required. Required:
13. Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
14. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
15. Excellent attention to detail.
16. Ability to work to deadlines.
17. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
18. Ability to work well as part of a team.
19. Ability to work on own initiative.
20. Highly motivated with the ability to take a proactive approach.
21. Knowledge of internal and ISO9001; 2015 Quality Management Systems.
22. Knowledge of ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management.
23. Knowledge of 5S continuous improvement and 7W waste elimination processes.
24. Awareness of ESD.
25. PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred:
26. Apprentice trained.
27. HNC/HND in Electrical /Electronic Engineering (or a similar discipline) or equivalent or working towards.
28. Knowledge of ERP systems (such as IFS).
29. IPC 610 qualification or equivalent.
30. IPC 7711 Repair.
Qualifications
31. GCSE Grade C Math's & English or equivalent.
32. IPC 620 qualification or equivalent.
Specialist training required/Application specific training
33. Low voltage training.
Additional requirements/particular aptitude/skill required
34. Driving license required.
35. Travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad to undertake occasional off-site activities is required.
36. Working overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.
