As a Business Analyst in our Digital Services team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of public service delivery, ensuring our digital solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned with the needs of our residents.
About the role
You’ll lead small to medium‑sized digital projects and support larger, more complex initiatives. Working independently and as part of a collaborative team, you’ll manage stakeholder relationships, gather and analyse requirements, and help shape the digital tools and services that support our transformation goals. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on challenge, and wants to make a real impact. Please note, this is a hybrid role and there is an expectation to work from County Council offices in Matlock as required to support collaboration and delivery.
What you’ll be doing
* Acting as a subject matter expert in business analysis, supporting the delivery of digital services across the Council.
* Leading on technical and business requirements for IT systems and services.
* Advising stakeholders on digital opportunities and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
* Supporting the business analysis community by sharing best practice and mentoring others.
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex process and technical issues.
Who you’ll work with
* You’ll report to the Lead Business Analyst and work closely with departmental managers, the Digital Services leadership team, and external partners.
* You’ll collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and contribute to working groups that drive innovation and continuous improvement.
* You’ll also liaise with customers, suppliers, and trade unions on matters relating to digital service delivery.
Qualifications
* Experience in business analysis, ideally within a digital public sector environment.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a passion for digital transformation.
* Confidence in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
