Applications are invited for a Police Staff Investigator (PSI), to be based within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) team at County Hall. This team is part of the wider MASH based at County Hall, Norwich.
The successful applicant will be part of the Safeguarding and Investigations command, working closely with teams across the Constabulary, as well as partner agencies, including Children’s Services, Adult Social Services and NIDAS. Core responsibilities include prioritising referrals relating to children and vulnerable adults and coordinating the next steps to ensure an efficient and effective safeguarding and investigative response follows.
The role is based on a four week shift pattern covering the MASH opening hours comprising 8 hour shifts starting between 0700hrs and 1100hrs, with one weekend in four (0700hs-1500hrs shifts).
There is scope to be involved with each MASH based police team providing variety and new skills.
The successful applicants will be self-motivated, dynamic and be able to demonstrate the ability to be flexible, work on your own initiative and evidence your commitment to deliver an excellent quality of service to vulnerable victims.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
* Demonstrate basic digital skills to include good numeracy and literacy skills as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience of conducting investigations/enquiries or demonstrate the ability to quickly develop the required skills
* Evidence of the ability to work as part of a team
* Evidence of the ability to identify and manage risk
* Full driving licence and the ability to travel to remote and sensitive sites
* Flexibility regarding working hours
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
* Experience of working on a multi-agency basis (e.g. with Children’s Services, Health etc)
* Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable people
Hours of work are 37 hours per week Monday to Friday / on a rotating shift pattern, which will include weekend working for which the appropriate allowance will be paid (Subject to review).
This is a full time post, however part time applications will be considered where the FWA can cover both weekend days, and an equal percentage of the FTE against the shifts in the pattern.
