Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and designing solutions that meet those needs while balancing technology risks against business delivery, driving consistency.
Accountabilities
* Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements aligned with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling, including identification and implementation of technologies and platforms.
* Apply targeted design activities that optimize workload placement and maximize cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
* Ensure designs incorporate security principles (defense in depth, reduction of blast radius) meeting the Bank’s resiliency standards.
* Create solutions that balance risks and controls to deliver business and technology value.
* Adopt standard solutions where appropriate; contribute to their ongoing evolution when no standard fits.
* Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues, leveraging available tooling.
* Assess the impact of solutions in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including project change and ongoing run costs estimation.
* Provide architecture inputs for governance compliance, including design artifacts for architecture, privacy, security, and records management.
