Design Manager
Location: Sturminster Newton, with site travel across Dorset. Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 + Vehicle/Vehicle Allowance. Hybrid working, training, progression to Director.
We are a well‑established, family‑run construction company specialising in high‑quality residential projects across Dorset. We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technician or Design Manager to join our team, working on extensions, loft and garage conversions, full refurbishments and new builds.
Key Responsibilities
* Work directly with clients and in‑house teams from initial briefing to project completion.
* Produce building control drawings, internal drawings and elevations that meet specifications and building regulations.
* Support on‑site to ensure projects meet client expectations and to assist with value engineering.
* Collaborate with the design team to maintain design standards and oversee technical aspects of projects.
* Manage project timelines, deliverables and client communication.
Qualifications and Experience
* Architect, Architectural Technician/Technologist or Design Manager with proven experience in residential design.
* Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of building regulations.
* Excellent communication skills and a team‑player attitude.
* Full UK driver’s licence with a commutable distance to Sturminster Newton office.
* Experience in value engineering and project management is desirable.
