Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join our client's People function in Guernsey. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and managers across the business, providing pragmatic, commercially focused HR and people development support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of people and capability strategy, advising on employee relations matters, and ensuring HR policies, learning initiatives and practices are aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted HR partner to managers, providing guidance on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on performance, capability and development.
* Advise on employee relations matters including performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance cases
* Support managers with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities, ensuring effective induction and early development
* Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and people development frameworks
* Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and internal governance standards
* Design, support and help deliver learning and development initiatives aligned to business needs
* Identify skills gaps and work with stakeholders to develop appropriate training and development solutions
* Participate in change management and organisational development projects
* Provide HR data and management information to support business decision-making
* Support the delivery of management and compliance training programmes where required
* Assist with remuneration, benefits and reward processes
* Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in an HR advisory or HR Business Partner role
* Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
* Experience supporting performance management and development processes
* Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* High level of professionalism and discretion
Desirable
* Experience within a regulated or professional services environment
* HR or Learning & Development qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 5 or above)
* Experience supporting managers across multiple business areas
* Experience designing or delivering training programmes
