Project Management Accountant

Salary: £35,188 to £45,286 per annum plus 12.5% employer pension, private medical insurance, very flexible employer.

Summary
You'll sit within the finance team reporting to the Finance Manager and focus on supporting our project-based activity as a specialist in the team.
We're growing! This is a new role for the company and an opportunity to help us grow and develop our project accounting services.
This role is critical to ensuring that the Project Financial Accounting data contained in, and produced by, the NCC's Finance System is reliable, accurate, and timely.
Examples Of Specific Responsibilities
1. Own the project accounting data produced via the Project Management system. Ensure data accuracy between systems using exception reports.
2. Responsible for ensuring that Sectors comply with Grant Funding requirements, including Grant submission and audit.
3. Deal with complex and non-standard ad-hoc requests to support the requirements of the business units. Ensure relevant system changes are implemented timely, maintaining controls over the finance system.
4. Implement, maintain, and improve financial and commercial control and reporting systems and processes.
5. Import projects to the financial system, ensuring accuracy of information.
6. Analyze project profitability and manage revenue recognition in accordance with FRS 102.
7. Work closely with the Delivery Finance Business Partner to assist with monthly Financial Reports.
8. Liaise with other NCC departments, particularly project managers, for accurate financial data input.
9. Support with any ad-hoc queries related to projects in our systems.
Candidate Requirements
We welcome applicants from various backgrounds, especially those with exposure to Engineering, Manufacturing, or R&D projects. Key qualifications include:
* Full or partly qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (CIMA preferred).
* Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
* Worked in project-based accounting.
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
* Desirable: Exposure to D365, Power BI, and grant funding.
